Trinity Laban teaches music at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich and dance at the Laban Building in Deptford, and it does not run halls of its own. Students either apply for the one building the conservatoire works with, or find somewhere on the private market.
We run The Greenwich Student Collective, 61 private studios on Tunnel Avenue. Of everywhere we have measured, the music faculty is the closest campus to our front door, so this is the guide where the numbers work hardest in our favour. They are still measured rather than rounded down.
Trinity Laban accommodation: what are the options?
The conservatoire points students to one partner building, which is privately owned and managed by another company, although Trinity Laban students share their kitchens with other Trinity Laban students. Applications there run to a timetable: a priority deadline in late May, outcomes in June, and move in at the start of September.
Everything else is the private market, and the conservatoire is clear on its accommodation pages that it can advise but cannot make arrangements on your behalf. Most students end up in a privately run building or a shared house around Greenwich, Deptford and New Cross.

The buses to Greenwich run every 7 minutes or so and cost £1.75. If you are looking for accommodation near the Laban Building in Deptford, that is the longer of the two journeys, so it is worth trying the route yourself before you decide.

What it costs and how to book
Studios start from £315 per week, all bills included, on 42 or 49 week contracts. You pick a specific studio from our floorplan, with no allocation process and no waiting list.
To reserve, you pay a £95 reservation fee, which is deducted in full from your rent. No deposit is held. If your student visa is refused, our no visa, no pay guarantee lets you cancel without penalty.
Guarantors and international students
Most private accommodation asks for a UK based guarantor. Trinity Laban can give you a letter of nomination to support an application, and if you have no guarantor at all, Housing Hand can act as one, which we accept.
We host international students every year and are used to walking applicants through booking from abroad. With a 49 week contract you can arrive before term and stay through the summer without moving your belongings twice.
When to start looking
Applications for the conservatoire's partner building close in late May, with outcomes in June, so if you are deciding after that the private market is your route. Either way, the earlier you look the more choice you have, and by the start of term what is left goes quickly.
